Fax sign Fox as Rovers plan Saxton recall

Halifax have signed Wakefield Trinity’s England winger Peter Fox on a contract until the end of the season.

York-based Fox, who has also played for Hull KR and Leeds, penned a deal on Friday morning after securing an exit from the remaining months of his deal at Belle Vue.

The 30 year old, a proven try scorer in the top flight, is effectively a replacement for loan recruit Tommy Saxton, who has been recalled by Featherstone and will return to Post Office Road at the end of the month.

Fox seems unlikely to figure in Sunday’s trip to Dewsbury (3.0), although Saxton is expected to play.

Fax boss Karl Harrison is already one winger down after Rob Worrincy was suspended until the end of August on betting charges.
