Halifax full back Ryan Fieldhouse says the club can take confidence from aspects of Sunday’s performance against Doncaster, despite an eventual 28-28 draw.
Fieldhouse returned to the side after a week’s absence as Fax, aiming to put back to back losses at Leigh and Barrow behind them, opened up a 28-6 lead over the South Yorkshire outfit.
But it all went wrong in the final quarter as the Dons, inspired by Paul Cooke, roared back to snatch a share of the spoils.
“It’s tough at the minute,” said Fieldhouse.
“We had it in the bag, they’d gone.
“But we backed off a bit, gave them a sniff and they got themselves back into it.
“There were definitely positives to come out of it; we did some of the things that we were doing well earlier in the season.
“We’ve worked hard and I thought we went well until we switched off and that gives us something to build on.
“Doncaster are going well, that’s five on the run and a draw for them now.
“You can’t turn up and not play for 80 minutes against anyone.”
