HALIFAX RLFC have urged fans to show restraint at tonight’s televised match against Widnes at the Shay.

The Halifax Independent Supporters Trust are believed to be planning a protest following Halifax’s failure to be granted a Super League licence, even after the collapse of Celtic Crusaders.

Halifax director Tony Abbott said he understood fans’ frustration but urged them to avoid actions which might distract the team and detract from the spectacle of a vital match.

Abbott said Fax had been treated “fairly and equitably” by the Rugby Football League when applications had been assessed.
