Halifax RL: Young prospect Johnston pens new long-term deal

Halifax have re-signed young half back talent Ben Johnston on a new contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2017.

The former Castleford player, who spent a chunk of last season playing for relegated Championship outfit York on a dual registration deal, looked a speculative signing when he arrived at the Shay on a two year contract last autumn.

But the fleet-footed number seven has arguably been the star of Fax’s rollercoaster season so far, prompting boss Karl Harrison to secure the player on an upgraded three and a half year contract.
