Halifax RLFC: Community Trust hoping to bag your vote

Halifax RLFC's Community arm, the Calderdale Community Coaching Trust (CCCT), is asking shoppers to use their vote to gain maximum funding for their new '˜Fax Fit and Healthy' project.

Tesco’s ‘Bags of Help’ initiative distributes funds raised through carrier bag charges to local causes, and the CCCT, alongside two other local projects, have been successful in securing such funding.

Fax Fit and Healthy will be led by Halifax RLFC players who will engage with supporters to encourage healthier and more active lifestyles.

Shoppers at Tesco stores throughout Calderdale receive tokens with which to cast their votes for their preferred schemes, determining the level of funding to be received.

The project with the most votes receives £5,000, second place receives £2,000 and the other £1,000. Voting is taking place now at Tesco supermarkets and express stores throughout Calderdale.

Still time to claim

There is still time for a local good cause or voluntary group to benefit from a £500 Calderdale Cares grant to help fund a seasonal initiative that will make someone’s Christmas that little bit more special. Contact Richard Watmough on 01422 342792 to stake your claim.

New kit for Christmas

Fax’s brand new 2017 home replica shirts are due at 1HX Sports’ shop at The Shay on December 18. The shop will be open every day in the week leading up to Christmas, but can be pre-ordered through the club’s website at www.halifaxrlfc.co.uk/shop.
