Halifax coach Karl Harrison has said he “couldn’t afford not to re-sign” utility forward Iain Morrison for 2013.
Morrison, 29, has agreed a new one year deal after a season wrecked by injury.
The Londoner, a close-season recruit from arch rivals Featherstone Rovers, has endured a third successive year ruined by fitness problems and is currently sidelined with season-ending knee cartilage damage.
“When Iain has played, he has been outstanding; it’s just that he hasn’t played enough,” said Harrison.
“But when a player of his quality wants to stay on what is basically a pay-as-you-play contract, I could not afford not to sign him.
“In that sense, it was an easy decision.
“He’s not just a player. He’s an outstanding person to have around the club and we have definitely missed him at times this season.”
