Fax coach Karl Harrison will be looking for his side to restore some pride as they look to get their Kingstone Press Championship campaign back on track at home to York on Sunday.

Harrison admitted to feeling disappointed following the 30-16 home defeat to arch-rivals Featherstone Rovers on July 11 where he believes the players “let themselved down.”

Now he will be looking for a positive response against Gary Thornton’s York side if Fax are to maintain realistic hopes of claiming the title.

“We let ourselves down in our last match against against Featherstone and we know we have to address that on Sunday,” said Harrison.

“We aim to give ourselves the best possible chance of winning the competition and that means we need to be beating teams like York.

“Having said that Gary Thornton is doing a really good job there and we cannot go out thinking that the game is already won.

“York have a very strong kicking game through Simon Brown and they are well-organised through the middle.

“They will give us a good game there is no doubt about that.

Despite Fax losing ground on leading pair Sheffield and Featherstone following the defeat against Rovers, Harrison has not ruled out the possibility of his side being in the mix at the final shake down.

“I believe it is in the hands of the teams above us and it will be interesting to keep a watch on their results,” he added.

“It is going to be tough until the end of the season but that doesn’t mean we can’t still win it.

“You only have to look at Leeds Rhinos who have won Super League‘s Grand Final from fifth a couple of years running so it can be done.”
