Harrison to keep faith with winning team?

Halifax will make minimal changes for Sunday’s Championship fixture with Whitehaven at the Shay (3.0), according to coach Karl Harrison.

And that could mean that both fit-again winger Rikki Sheriffe, utility player Callum Casey and strike forward Sam Barlow miss out against the Cumbrians.

Fax have won their last three league fixtures, downing Swinton, Hunslet and Dewsbury on their travels.

“I thought we were pretty solid at Dewsbury, even though we probably eased off a bit in the second half,” said Harrison.

“Unless we get any injuries during the week, I can’t envisage too many changes, apart from maybe Rob Worrincy coming back into the side.”

Dave Woods’ ‘Haven currently sit sixth on the league ladder, 17 points shy of Fax going into Sunday’s match.

But Harrison, who watched his side notch a solid 22-12 win at the Recreation Ground in March, still considers them as dangerous opponents.

“The league table doesn’t lie; they’re a solid side,” he said.

“They’ve a big, physical forward pack, they offload the ball well and they’ve got a good kicking game.

“The key for us is to start well, make sure it turns into the game we want it to be, and produce an 80 minute performance.”
