Halifax coach Karl Harrison has tipped a positive response to defeat by Featherstone ahead of tonight’s Northern Rail Cup semi final at Sheffield.
Fax lost their top-of-the-table showdown with Rovers 24-4, slipping two points off the pace at the top of the Championship.
And while Harrison acknowledged the loss had been particularly painful for his players, he remained confident they can bounce back at the Don Valley Stadium (7.30).
“The last time we had a bad result (the Challenge Cup defeat at Leigh) we reacted pretty well with a big win at Featherstone,” said Harrison. “Tonight is a semi final, a big game against a very, very good Sheffield side.
“But I want us to relax and enjoy ourselves; I thought we looked a little bit anxious with the ball against Featherstone.
“Maybe it had been coming for three or four weeks, because we hadn’t been great even though we were still winning.
“Sometimes a game like that can be good for a team though and I am sure we will see the right kind of response tonight.”
