Fax coach Karl Harrison has said that the chances of stand off Scott Murrell making a return in the Kingstone Press Championship clash against York at the Shay on Sunday as “80/20 against.”

Murrell broke his hand in the 50-18 home success over Whitehaven on July 7 and was forced to miss the 30-16 defeat by Featherstone in Fax’s last outing.

“It is all a question of how much pain Scott feels with the injury and it was still too much to include him against Featherstone,” said Harrison.

“We have had a bit of time since that game so it will be a question of assessing Scott nearer the time.

“But at the moment I would say it is 80-20 against.”

Fax will take on Northern Rail Cup winners Leigh Centurions at Leigh Sports Village on Wednesday, July 31 (7.30).

The game had originally been pencilled in for last Saturday but had to be postponed due to Leigh’s participation in the final at the Shay which saw them defeat Sheffield Eagles 43-28.
