Halifax have re-signed a second player who is currently sidelined for the season, with centre Mick Nanyn penning a new one-year contract.
Nanyn joined Fax from Leigh last winter, but played just 40 minutes of the club’s opening pre-season fixture against Keighley on Boxing Day before damaging his cruciate ligament in a training ground collision.
Nanyn is currently recovering from a knee reconstruction, but has followed the example of fellow long-term absentee Iain Morrison - who has also signed for 2013 - in commiting to the Shay for another year.
“Mick’s played half a game and it didn’t really seem right to judge him as a Halifax player on the basis of that,” said Fax coach Karl Harrison.
“It’s a similar deal in structure to Iain’s and he didn’t hesitate about taking it; I think he feels he wants to give the club something back after we looked after him.
“His rehab is going well and I’m looking forward to seeing him on the field next year.”
