Halifax prop Tony Tonks has described the side’s current form as the players’ “problem”, rather than a coaching issue.
The former Doncaster and Featherstone prop spoke out after his former club snatched a 28-28 draw at the Shay on Sunday.
It was Fax’s third game without a win, a statistic that looked implausible when Karl Harrison’s side built a commanding 28-6 lead after 50 minutes.
“There are quite a lot heads down at the moment,” said Tonks.
“The thing I want to stress is that as players, it’s our problem.
“The coaching staff are doing all the right things and it worked for 50 or 60 minutes.
“We had one thing go against us and we couldn’t react to it.
“A loose offload, a penalty, a dropped ball; You have to be able to deal with those moments and get back to what you were doing well.
“At the moment, we’re not doing that.
“Things will go right for us though, because we are working hard to put things right.”
