Rangi Chase is officially on his way out of Castleford, the club have confirmed.
The Tigers have announced they have agreed a fee for the 27-year-old England international, who recently submitted a transfer request.
Castleford declined to name Chase’s new club but Press Association Sport understands the 2011 Man of Steel will be among a raft of new signings to be unveiled by Salford at a re-launch of the club at lunchtime.
A statement said: “Castleford Tigers can confirm that terms have been agreed with an unnamed club for the transfer of Rangi Chase.
“Chase has also agreed personal terms with the club and will be presented by them in the near future.”
It would be third time lucky for Salford, who had two previous bids for the New Zealand-born stand-off rejected by the Tigers.
Chase, who was under contract with Castleford for another two seasons, has been unsettled for some time but proposed moves to Hull and his former club St George Illawarra fell through.
He looks set to be one of at least 10 new faces for 2014 confirmed by Salford owner Marwan Koukash at a press conference at the Salford City Stadium tomorrow, when the club will be re-launched as the Red Devils.
Salford have so far only confirmed Warrington prop Adrian Morley, Melbourne centre Junior Sa’u and St Helens winger Francis Meli for 2014 but other sources revealed that New Zealand Warriors forward Steve Rapira and Wakefield’s Australian scrum-half Tim Smith are also on board.
The Reds have also been linked with Saints forward Tony Puletua, Wigan second rower Gareth Hock, London Broncos hooker Tommy Lee and Batley duo Jason Walton and Greg Johnson.
