Salford have signed New Zealand international Junior Sa’u from Melbourne Storm.
The 26-year-old centre or second rower has agreed a two-year deal with the Reds to become the first of a host of anticipated big-name signings for next season.
“Junior is box office,” said Salford coach Brian Noble.
“He is an explosive talent and every time I have seen him play in the NRL or for New Zealand he has been an absolute handful.
“He is young and coming into the peak of his career and he gets a great rap from (Melbourne coach) Craig Bellamy.
“We are really looking forward to him being a big part of what is going to happen here.”
Auckland-born Sa’u, who qualifies for Samoa, won the last of his eight caps for the Kiwis in the 2010 Four Nations Series.
He scored 26 tries in 86 appearances for Newcastle Knights before joining Melbourne this season on a one-year-deal.
