HALIFAX have said they are “extremely disappointed” by Calderdale Council’s management of the planned Challenge Cup double header involving themselves and Siddal at the Shay next weekend.

Stadium bosses have ruled that Siddal’s third round tie against Widnes must kick off at 11.30am, with a four hour break before Fax face Lock Lane at 5pm.

In between, the ground must be emptied.

A statement on the Fax website, containing quotes from director Tony Abbott, said: “We believe the relatively small issues raised were more than easily resolvable

“As tenants of Calderdale Council, we are extremely disappointed by this decision which penalises fans and is in our opinion a non commercial one.”

Fax have confirmed they will not be offfering dining packages before the game, a decision they estimate will cost stadium caterers EMC between £3k and £4k.
