Siddal boss optimistic ahead of Wests’ visit

Siddal coach Gareth Greenwood expects to select from a position of strength when West Hull visit Chevinedge tomorrow (2.0). Last season’s Premier Division Grand Finalists have won three straight games since Greenwood succeeded his brother Lee as boss and will be at short odds to make that four tomorrow.

“We’ll be missing Gareth English and probably Simeon Hoyle, but apart from that I think we’ll have everyone available,” said Greenwood, whose side won 24-22 at Oulton last weekend. Wests probably aren’t the force they were when we played them in those Grand Finals a few years ago, but it’s the first summer season and I think we’re still seeing a lot of unpredictable results.”

One player who could make an appearance soon is former Siddal junior and Halifax back rower Jaymes Chapman.

“He’s been away for a while,” said Greenwood.
