Warrington’s Cooper seals NRL switch

Warrington forward Mike Cooper is to become the latest Englishman to ply his trade in the NRL after signing a two-year contract with St George Illawarra.

The Wolves have agreed to release the 24-year-old prop from the last 12 months of his contract to enable him to join the Dragons from 2014.

“It’s something I’ve wanted to do since the age of 16,” said Cooper, whose younger brother Jack recently returned from a spell with Australian club Wynnum Manly Seagulls to join Swinton.
