Ovenden must wait until Tuesday night for a chance to open their Division Two account when they travel to Stanningley.
The Four Fields side lost their opening fixture under the tutelage of new coach Gareth English, slipping up 31-28 against Widnes West Bank on home soil last weekend.
“It’s not ideal, having a blank Saturday and then a midweek fixture for the second game,” said English.
“They’re a strong side but we’ll go looking for our first win.
“We played really well for long periods at the weekend and we were 24-10 up after 60 minutes.
“We lost our discipline in the last 20 and that’s ended up costing us the game, so that’s something that needs to be improved.
“But they’re quite a fancied side this year from what I read, so there are plenty of positives.”
