TONIGHT’S National Conference clash between Siddal and Wigan St Patricks at Chevinedge has been postponed and will now be played on Tuesday, April 26.
Conference officials pulled the plug after St Pats officials learned that another of tonight’s games, between their relegation rivals Dudley Hill and Wath Brow Hornets in Cumbria, would not be played because of floodlight problems.
“Both the games will now be played at the same time and will probably end up being a relegation decider,” said Siddal’s Steve Dyson.
“I can’t say we were happy about it, but there was not a lot we could do.”
Siddal’s season will now stretch into the week leading up to the first round of the play offs, meaning Lee Greenwood’s side must finish first or second to book a weekend off and avoid a four-day turnaround.
“It’s an incentive to finish top two,” said Dyson.
