A TEENAGE opera singer is hoping to turn into a rock star in a battle of the bands.
Lead singer of a group from Brighouse High School, Jason Simonet-Shaw, will be swapping Opera North for the Battle of the Bands.
Jason, along with four other 13-year-olds from the school, make up Medical Attention and will be one of the youngest groups competing in the competition.
Jason, who lives in Southowram, Halifax, toured with Opera North in their production of Peter Grimes in 2006.
He is joined in the group by school friends Laurence Wike on lead guitar, Haydn Bennett on bass guitar, Tom Pattinson on drums and Max Lister on rhythm guitar.
In their first public performance together they will take part in the Battle of the Bands at PM Freestyle Lounge, Shipley, Bradford, tomorrow.
