A TRIP to Amsterdam took a cat-astrophic turn for a Queensbury mum when she opened her suitcase to find her kitten stowed away inside.
Beauty, a 12-week-old black cat, crept inside owner Helen Wilmore's case as she packed.
Despite security checks at Leeds Bradford and Schiphol airports, she remained undetected after hitching the ride.
Helen, 36, said: "We'd been travelling for about 21 hours when I opened my case and out she popped.
"I couldn't believe she managed to survive in there all that time – she must have used up quite a few of her nine lives."
Helen was forced to give Beauty to a Dutch cat sanctuary.
A spokesman at Leeds-Bradford International Airport said they were investigating the matter.
