The drama is the biggest new mid-week drama on any channel this year attracting an average audience over seven million. The story centres on childhood sweethearts being reunited after 60 years. Sally said: “I’m thrilled by the amazing response we’ve had to Last Tango. People have really engaged with it, and with the wonderful performances of the actors, and I couldn’t be happier about being given the chance to take the story further.” Starring in the series are Derek Jacobi, Anne Reid, Sarah Lancashire, Nicola Walker, Tony Gardner, Dean Andrews and Ronni Ancona. The final episodes of the current series air on December 18 and 19.
