Pupils at Heathfield School, Rishworth , have taken to the stage in their latest production, The Peace Child.

The play starred pupils from years three and four and is the largest production the school have ever put on for these year groups.

During music lessons they learnt songs and drum rhythms for the play.

The pupils rehearsed the play in drama classes and created the jungle scenery in art lessons.

Set in the far off land of Mambica, The Peace Child tells the story of two opposing tribes with different lifestyles and traditions.

The Sotongi and Wannakeekee tribes are separated by a river and also by generations of animosity and there seems to be little hope of reconciliation.

However, the birth of a new child - The Peace Child - will change that forever.
