Back by popular demand - and now in its fourth smash-hit year - ‘An Evening of Dirty Dancing’ is set to return to the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, on Saturday, November 1.
The fully-choreographed tribute show, celebrating the music of the iconic movie, promises to bring an electric atmosphere and stunning dancing to the Victoria Theatre stage.
Musical theatre stalwart Julian Essex-Spurrier will lead the production. He has played numerous leading roles including Tony Manero in ‘Saturday Night Fever’, Rocky in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and Riff in ‘West Side Story’. He’s joined by Tricia Adele Turner, who recently played played Vivienne Kensington in ‘Legally Blonde’.
Director Paul Spicer said: “The atmosphere is always electric. We totally encourage our audiences to sing and dance and immerse themselves in the summer of ’63. I watch people leave the theatre on a real high.”
The show features the classic songs ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Hey Baby’ and, of course, ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’.
