Proud mum Dita Krona was the popular winner of our second Runway competition.
The 26-year-old was all smiles as she and her fellow finalists - Alannah Chapman, Evangeline Whiteley and Lauren Chiles - breezed through five changes of clothes showing off fashion lines by Phase Eight, Wallis, Gerry Weber and Betty Barclay, Masai and Two Danes and Michaela Louisa and Frank Lyman at Harveys of Halifax, the department store where she is a part-time cleaner.
Dita wins an introduction to modelling course with Morton-Gledhill, The Fashion Team; £250 of vouchers to spend at Harveys and a fashion photoshoot with the Courier to kick start her portfolio.
Dita, who is originally from Latvia, was handed her prize by last year’s winnerIsla Rowe, who also joined in the catwalk show.
But the success of the night was down to all the finalists - who despite experiencing the fashion runway for the first time, put on a wonderful show.
Bernadette Gledhill, managing director of Morton-Gledhill - co-sponsors with the Courier and Harveys - who was one of four judges, said: “All the girls did magnificently well. It can be daunting to tread the catwalk when you are a professional, never mind when it is your first time. They all did remarkably well and should be extremely proud of themselves.”
She added: “Dita was a worthy winner and exuded confidence.”
After the show Dita, who was watched by her four-year-old daughter Karlina said: “I’m so pleased I entered. I have really enjoyed taking part.”
