Students’ visual art exhibitions

Students had a brush with art as a showcase of their work went on public display.

Pupils at Brooksbank School, Elland; North Halifax Grammar, Illingworth; Park Lean Learning Trust, Exley; and Todmorden High had their creations unveiled at Bankfield Museum last weekend for the Young Brilliance 2013 showcase.

Comments from the day included: “Fabulous array of styles. Obviously, many hours of hard work have gone into the pieces displayed,” from Victoria Illingworth.

Graham Maslen, Head of North Halifax Grammar wrote: “An impressive exhibition of a wide range of young artists’ work - there should be more opportunities for young artists’ to publicly display their work.”

This exhibition continues until June 29.

In a second round of the Young Brilliance project, Rastrick High School and Hipperholme Grammar School will have pupils’ artwork unveiled at Smith Art Gallery, Halifax Road, Brighouse, tomorrow between 2pm and 3.30pm.

Pupils’ masterpieces will be on display until July 13.
