Think flares and denim as fashion heads back to the glam Seventies

March - the beginning of spring - and a time of year time that celebrates women through International Women’s Day and Women’s History month.

One too when influential women have wowed the fashion world and put their lead on the next trends.

Two celebrities have shown us how to wear our hair this season are Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Kim Kardashian.

Cheryl’s new ‘Do’ dramatic and short, has taken on the 70s inspired haircut.

With the 70s set to take over fashion for the summer Cheryl has taken the lead on the textured long bob that has a slight inversion.

Showing off her sexy new style she said “I love the 70s”.

I will be awaiting the queue for fellow followers of Mrs Fernandez-Versini outside the salon asking for the new Cheryl.

Kim Kardashian however has gone for a totally bold change, flooring her fans with some new platinum blonde ambition.

Kim revealed that her inspiration was Pop star Madonna. So will you be chopping your hair off or bleaching it to within an inch of its life?

Whilst being blown into March, it seems hard to focus on what to wear when there are sherbert colours everywhere. However the new look for summer will be a twist on the past.

This spring it is all about the 70s and if Cheryl is doing it then we’ll all be doing it.

Denim was a huge hit at Paris Fashion week. Crisp, chic white jeans, ripped super skinnys and the retro flare. Jeans for every occasion.

Mid wash Brooke Flare £42 – Riverisland throw out the rule book with the slimfit legged flare to start off your Boho look.

Light Blue Denim dip hem t-shirt £17.99 – New look. Team up with some skinny chic white denim.

Double Denim is aloud this season with denim jackets, dresses, tops and shirts. White Denim with the tradition blue can be teamed up for both an afternoon canal walk and cocktails in the warming spring sunshine.

So what will you be wearing as a mother on Mother’s day this year. Like The daffodils you have bought, yellow is in. You have two choices, go all out or buy just one piece for the perfect March outfit.

Buying one yellow piece will brighten up your spring wardrobe.

Marks and Spencer has some lovely yellow pieces for this spring, like this handbag (above).

Try a faux leather pocket tote £39.50 (M&S) with some jeans, a knit or crochet top with wedges, which I am sure you have hiding in your wardrobe, will look perfect for this weekend.

All we need is the sun to come out. There are three sections in the shops so far, jungle coloured prints, sherbert pick and mix and the 70’s fringing/festival look. These different paths are for any age and can be simple changes to your wardrobe.
