Culture, entertainment and comedy is coming to town in the annual Halifax Festival.
For nine days, spanning June 27 - July 5, Halifax and surrounding areas will host 55 indoor and outdoor performances.
Last year’s festival attracted over 12,000 visitors and residents to the area and organisers hope this year will attract even more people, ahead of the Tour de France Grand Depart.
There’s lots for children and parents to enjoy with a Eureka! family festival on June 28, from 11am-4pm, where there will be story telling sessions and music workshops.
For adults, swing back in time in the Vintage Dance Night with Louis Louis Louis where the band will entertain you with classic rhythm and blues sounds of Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone and more on July 4, from 7.30pm, at Square Chapel - tickets cost £11-£13 and include a 30 minute swing dance class.
Save some cash and have a laugh in this year’s Comedy Gala at Halifax’s Victoria Theatre, July 3, from 7.30pm.
It’s a comedy extravaganza with five comedy stars: Kathryn Ryan, Chris Ramsey, Alun Cochrane, Jason Cook and Paul Tonkinson. Take advantage of the Courier reader promotion - offering readers two tickets for £20; usual price £15 each, see right. Contact theatre box office on 01422 351158.
