A shopping centre is set to be turned into a catwalk as glamorous fashion models show off the very latest designs and outfits.
Fashion on the Move, a series of free outdoor shows takes place at the Woolshops shopping centre, in Halifax, tomorrow (April 6).
Among the stores taking part in Fashion on the Move will be Topman, Topshop, Peacocks, River Island, M&S, Accessorize, Vision Express, New Look and Evans who will be providing items worn by the models on the day.
The event is being put together by stylists Holly Sorelle and Corey Healey and choreographer Val Armstrong.
“This will be our first fashion event at the Woolshops and we’re really looking forward to it! Working with such great brands in an open air centre will be great fun to show off the very best of spring-summer fashion in Halifax,” says Holly, a trained professional dancer who has starred in West End musical ‘42nd Street’.
She will be co-directing the event with Val.
The pair run a business specialising in dance and performing arts and say they are delighted to be working at the Woolshops.
“Fashion on the Move is a brilliant concept. I will be in Halifax from the Thursday before the event and will be selecting the very best outfits on offer from the shops in Woolshops Shopping Centre,” says Holly.
“Then, on the Saturday, our models will be showcasing the chosen outfits as part of a high energy show for shoppers and visitors to enjoy.
“We have a female model and two child models from Yorkshire while the male model will be coming up from London.”
Says Val: “We will be putting on shows every hour from 11am so there will be plenty to see.
“I just hope we get nice weather but it’s fun even in the rain!”
Centre Manager Jason Gregg (pictured) adds: “With shows going on all day, from 11am, there will be a really positive vibe around the shopping centre.
“I think shoppers are going to be pleasantly surprised with a surge of fashion activity and hopefully the spring-summer fashion will kick start some good weather in Halifax!
“If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching a Fashion on the Move show before, get along to Woolshops shopping centre, if you like fashion, you won’t be disappointed.”
