French style menu cooks up for charity

La Cachette restaurant in Elland held a French themed Demo and Dine day and evening to fundraise for children’s charity NSPCC.

Executive chef and restaurant owner Jonathan Nichols demonstrated how to prepare and cook frogs’ legs; wild mushroom crumpets; traditional bouef bourguignon; creme brulee and clafoutis. For every ticket sold £10 and £5 went to the NSPCC - with the event raising £170 for the charity.

Mr Nichols said: “It was a great success - with guests learning French culinary skills and enjoying the food; as well as me learning a few tips from them - we look forward to holding the next.”
