Oh What a Night’ it was last year, so much so that Halifax Light Opera Society is following it up with another musical treat.

‘Oh What a Night’ was based on a line from a song in the musical ‘Jersey Boys’, this time the offering is named after an Andrew Lloyd Webber favourite ‘Music of the Night’.

The society will be on show from Wednesday to Saturday next week (June 19-22) at the Halifax Playhouse with a selection of songs, many of which have not been performed before locally.

Composers featured range from Lloyd Webber to Elton John and Neil Diamond to Eric Idle.

There are a few old favourites but also music from newer hit shows such as ‘The Lion King’, ‘Billy Elliott’, ‘Spamalot’ and even ‘Shrek’.

Getting ready for ‘Music of the Night’ are, back row (from the left), Vicky Hurst, Pippa Davis and Emily Hurst; middle, Julie Stott; front Hayley Roberts (left) and Paige Fletcher.
