Band win national trophy for a second time

CHEERING and punching the air, here is Brighouse and Rastrick Band with its huge trophy for winning a national title – for the second year in a row.

As reported in yesterday’s Courier, the band beat 19 other groups to win the prestigious National Championships of Great Britian.

Judges said its performance at the Royal Albert Hall made it easy to put the band in first place. The musicians performed Paul Lovett-Cooper’s Breath of Souls and were conducted by Professor David King.

They are also holders of the Yorkshire title.

President Paul Beaumont said they were delighted to have taken the trophy again.
