Calderdale Big Band presents an evening of jazz and swing at Square Chapel, Halifax, on Friday, (September 27), at 8pm.

Under the baton of musical director Peter Lynch, the band will perform a selection of classic hits from the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller and many more, as well as a few Latin grooves.

The band, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, consists of musicians aged 13 to 75 and is returning to Square Chapel after a successful debut performance in 2012.

This concert will be the first appearance by the band’s two new members - saxophonist Claire Crowther and trumpeter Joe Roughton.

Peter said: “We had a great response to our music last year and we are looking forward to putting on another entertaining evening.”

Tickets priced £13/£11 are available from the box office on 01422 349422 or online at www.squarechapel.co.uk.
