An all-singing, all-dancing Halifax couple are setting sail on a magical journey to perform on a Disney cruise liner and private island.
Guitar and vocal duo Infusion is made up of boyfriend and girlfriend Ben Hartwell and Kerrie Southwart who have recently secured a contract with Disney to entertain ‘Disney Magic’ cruisers around the Caribbean - with a stop-over on Castaway Cay island.
The musical duo set sail on December 6 for five months.
The artists met in Halifax in 2008 and have since collaborated on their musical talents.
It was when the recession hit the UK - the couple decided to follow their performing pursuits, abroad.
“We were finding it hard to get regular work so we got work with Thompsons holidays - performing around Europe. We returned from Mallorca in October and now it’s only a couple of weeks until we go to America,” said Kerrie.
The former North Halifax Grammar student and her partner have had to learn over 300 popular songs and will be performing up to four times a day as part of the ship’s entertainment.
It’s a first time hop over the pond for both of them.
“We’re excited though it’s a little daunting as we’ve never been on a ship before.
“But we’re so lucky as we’re doing something we’ve always strived to do - we’re doing a job we love - you couldn’t ask for more than that,” said Kerrie.
The couple say they hope to renew their Disney contract in April 2014.
