AJ, a former member of Calderdale Big Band, said: “I love the song. I feel it’s right up there with my best work and I cannot wait for people to hear it.

“It’s something of a change of direction and the feedback so far has been amazing.”

AJ is influenced by the sounds of artists such as Disclosure, Michael Buble and Lionel Richie but it is his own self-penned lyrics that continue to wow audiences across the UK.

He has recently supported Sir Tom Jones, Burt Bacharach, Rebecca Fergusson, Marti Pellow, Will Young, Collabro, Simply Red and Jools Holland.

The release of Loving Spell is accompanied by a video shot on Lancashire’s Fylde coast, an area AJ knows well after playing a set at Lytham Festival.

Locations including Lytham Hall, the sand dunes at St Annes and a finale in the Irish Sea off Fleetwood provide the perfect backdrop.

AJ said: “The video is really atmospheric, it captures the mood and tone of the track beautifully.

“It was a lot of fun to shoot and to have the beautiful Fylde coast, where I’ve performed many times, as the backdrop was perfect.

“There is one scene where I have to fall backwards, fully clothed into the sea and believe me it really was a cold as it looks, but the end result was stunning.”

AJ will embark on a promotional tour of the UK over the coming months, with an album announcement due in 2017.

Loving Spell is released by Brown Bear Records on Friday, November 25, available on iTunes and Amazon.
