This year’s annual celebrity organ recital at St Martin’s Parish Church, Brighouse will be given by Sarah Baldock, organist and master of the choristers at Chichester Cathedral.

Sarah was educated at St Paul’s Girls’ School, London, and as organ scholar at Pembroke College, Cambridge. She gained prizes in the RCO diploma examinations and a bursary for postgraduate study with David Sanger and Thomas Trotter and was a finalist in the 1998 Calgary International Competition.

She was a prize winner at the 2000 Odense and 2002 Dallas International Organ Competitions.

In 1998 she moved to Winchester Cathedral where she founded the Cathedral Girls’ Choir and later became Assistant Director of Music. In 2008 she was appointed Organist and Master of the Choristers at Chichester, making recordings with the choir and touring to Germany and Italy.

Along with her work in cathedral music, Sarah has been active in the concert hall and in broadcasting and recording. Her solo and concerto performances have taken her to Europe, the US and Canada.

Her latest performance is at St Martin’s on Thursday, October 23, at 7.30pm.
