PUPILS at Ryburn Valley High School showed they are stars in the making with a fantastic production of Bugsy.

The classic gangster musical was made famous by the 1976 film featuring child starlets Scott Baio and Jodie Foster.

This time it was Year 11 pupil Liam Parkintaking on the lead role of Bugsy Malone.

Year 8 student Bryony Chappels played Blousey Brown while Katie Wasyliw (Year 11) played the unforgettable Tallulah.

The show ran for three nights at the school with each one completely sold out.

Triestina Bozzo, head of creative arts at the school, helped to produce the show and said she was blown away by the talent of the children.

“The cast included students from all year groups,” she said.

“The singing was outstanding and there were some incredible performances.

“They created an energetic and enthusiastic performance.”
