Sharleen’s back on stage to celebrate 25 years of hits

Tickets have gone on sale for a spectacular open-air concert by rock band Texas with lead singer Sharleen Spiteri in Leeds city centre on Friday, July 31.

The band is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a live appearance at the 5,000 capacity Millenium Square outdoor arena. Part of the Millenium Square Summer Series, the concert will include the band’s million-selling hits such as ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Black-Eyed Boy’, ‘Summer Son’, ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’ and ‘When We are Together’ as well as new material from the latest album ‘Texas 25’.

Michael Taylor, MD of the show’s producers Easy Theatre, said: “Sharleen is renowned as one of the greatest modern British front-women. As well as enjoying everyone’s favourite Texas hit songs, we are looking forward to a fabulous evening in the company of the band’s lead singer, entertaining a capacity crowd in her own inimitable style.”

Sharleen said: “The music sounds better than it’s ever done so let’s see where we go from here. The plan is that this will lead onto a big Texas journey.”

Over the past quarter-century, Texas have recorded six number one albums and sold 38 million records worldwide. 
The band’s album ‘Texas 25’ contains four new songs and highlights from the greatest hits.
