The show features a number of Irish classics such as Galway Girl, Irish Rover, Song for Ireland, Danny Boy, Carrickfergus and Ireland’s Call, as well as new songs and choreography.
Principal dancers Richard Hancock and Samantha Fisher explain the appeal of being involved with the show.
Said Richard: “I love the unison of Irish dancing and I have experienced nothing like it before. When the amazing Irish music is being played by the talented live band behind you, it really does push you through the tough routines and makes you dance from the heart.”
Samantha said: “The music is my favourite part. The audiences always enjoy it and there is always a good vibe.”
Inspired by true events, the Essence of Ireland show is set against the backdrop of Irish, English and American history in the 20th century and tells a story of love, joy, happiness and heartbreak through the eyes of two people separated by emigration.
