The cast of a children’s TV show written by Henry Winkler, best known as The Fonz in Happy Days, has been announced.
Filming of Hank Zipzer has got underway at the former St Catherine’s Catholic High School which has been transferred to become Westbrook Academy.
The show will star Henry Winkler as a teacher plus Felicity Montagu (I’m Alan Partridge, Nighty Night, Bridget Jones Diary), Juliet Cowan (The Revolting World of Stanley Brown, The Bill, Shameless), and Neil Fitzmaurice (Peep Show, Mount Pleasant, Waterloo Road).
The show also stars Vincenzo Nicoli (Black Books, The Knot, EastEnders) and Nick Mohammed (Sorry I’ve Got No Head, Reggie Perrin, Drifters).
Inspired by the 18 ‘Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Underachiever’ novels, written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver and published by Walker Books, the 13 30-minute children’s show will air on CBBC early in 2014.
