Holdsworth House’s historical halls were cast a leading role in the filming of the second series of Last Tango in Halifax.
In keeping with local playwright Sally Wainwright’s grass roots, Calderdale landmarks and landscape have provided the back-drop to the BAFTA-winning drama.
In September, the Jacobean manor played host to headline cast members Derek Jacobi, Anne Reid and Sarah Lancashire.
The much-awaited second series ascends from the cliff upon which it was left at the end of series one - with tensions running high in health and love for protagonists Alan (Jacobi) and Celia (Reid) and daughter Caroline (Lancashire).
Written upon reflection of her mother’s discovery of love later in life, Sally Wainwright said: “The inspiration for LTIH was deeply personal so I am delighted that it also resonated with so many viewers - young and old.”
Locations manager Andy Morgan said: “A lot of the set location came from Sally Wainwright - she often drives around the area and frequents Holdsworth House regularly.
“It was a good case of where what the author envisages works well in film.”
Red Production Company, based in Salford, have been filming in Calderdale since summer.
Co-owner of Holdsworth House Gail Moss said: “I’m so thrilled that our former family home has made it into the script of such a brilliant TV drama series.”
Since the series aired in 2012, Holdsworth House has offered a taste of Yorkshire with their Last Tango Break.
Marketing manager Liz Howe said: “Scooping LTIH filming will help tourism.”
The manor house team are targeting the American market for tourism trade since airing of the first series in the US received strong reviews in the New York Times.
