The last film of the season for Halifax Film Society is the charming and touching film ‘The Lunchbox’ which will be screened at Halifax Playhouse on Sunday, March 22.

Directed by Ritesh Batra, the film is set in Mumbai where a mistaken delivery in the city’s famously efficient lunchbox delivery system connects a young housewife to an older man.

The two, both desperate to escape their humdrum lives, create a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox.

The film was described by Empire magazine’s David Parksinson as ‘charming and whimsical, a feast for the eyes’. The film starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £4/£3. Tel: 01422 355990.
