The show must go on ...

A planned appearance by movie star Shirley Anne Field at the screening of her 1960 classic film Saturday Night, Sunday Morning to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Halifax Film Society was postponed this week after the 78-year-old actress was admitted to hospital.

The news comes as a huge disappointment to the society who send Shirley their best wishes for a speedy recovery.

However in the best spirit of entertainment the show will go on (October 16, 7.30pm) revealing Shirley in arguably her most famous role opposite Albert Finney.
