Don't just sit there – do something: Council guide points way to an active summer of fun
Published Date:

A GUIDE listing all of the activities for children this summer has just been launched.
The Do Something pack issued by Calderdale Council is sponsored by The Halifax.
It is a comprehensive guide of activities available to enjoy over the holidays.
This is the third year that the pack has been published and it is packed with activities including arts events, reading workshops, museum days, parks events and wildlife walks.
There is also a variety of different sports activities and courses being staged at leisure centres, swimming pools, schools and other venues across Calderdale.
Paul McRae, Calderdale Council community services marketing officer, said: "The guide is essentially a one stop shop for parents and children looking for interesting things to do during the summer holidays.
"We have tried to feature a cross-section of activities, courses and events to suit different ages, abilities and interests.
"We hope that there is something for everyone within the guide."
Copies of the guide will be available from schools, libraries, leisure centres and other local outlets from mid-June.
It will also be available to download from the council's website.
