Girls hit their Channel target

Together these girls swam the length of the Channel – without even leaving Calderdale.
The group of 12 from North Halifax Grammar School, Illingworth, swam a total of 22 miles in Sowerby Bridge Pool for a sponsored swimathon.

The Year 11 students were raising money towards their school prom and for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Lucy Foster, 16, who organised the event said: "It was really good, we really enjoyed it. It was something different for us to do and I'm glad everyone turned up."
