ISAAC Marsh cooked up a treat and won the Halifax Rotary Young Chef competition.
The 13-year-old pupil at Rishworth School, Rishworth, delighted judges with his two-course meal.
The teenager cooked up north African lamb with chilli, ginger and chickpeas served with couscous and followed with a delicious chocolate orange pudding with double cream.
Chris Plant, of Halifax Rotary, said: "It took him two hours to cook his meal and what he created was brilliant. It was just lovely and his pudding was to die for.
"For a 13-year-old to do that was wonderful."
The competition, now in its second year, was held at Park Lane High, Exley, Halifax. It is part of Rotary's national competition to find the culinary stars of tomorrow.
Mr Plant said: "We decided to take part last year and it was a great success. Based on that we decided to have another go this year."
Youngsters took part in several heats at their school before being selected to take part in the final.
Mr Plant said: "This year we have encouraged a second school to take part and we are just hoping that more will take an interest after a second year of success."
Isaac was asked to create two-course meal for one at a cost of £5.
He will now be going to the district final in January at Betty's Cookery School in Harrogate.
