Americana & Bluegrass from Brighouse

LiveMusic@TheWorkshop opens its 2015/16 Season this Saturday, October 10, with a welcome return to the venue for The Rainey Street Band. Hailing from Brighouse, their unique brand of Americana and Bluegrass is guaranteed to deliver a lively evening’s entertainment. Their original songs immediately sound like classics of the genre, and usually have audiences singing along as if they were. A real treat, particularly in the intimate setting of The Workshop Theatre.

Support for the evening comes from Jake Smallbones, described by Steve Chrisanthou (Producer for Coryn Bailey Rae, Newton Faulkner, Eliza Doolittle) as “raw talent .... his songwriting echoing social commentaries and nu folk tales, his music is modern, powerful and true”. Rounding off the line-up are Delicious Biscuits, a trio of former Actors’ Workshop members (well, two former members and one honorary former member) playing covers in their own delicious style.

Tickets for Saturday , October 10 are £6 and available on the door (The Workshop, Back Victoria Street, Halifax), which opens, along with the Bar, at 7pm. The first act will be on at 8pm.
