B & R Band tunes up for Best of Brass series

Champion band Brighouse and Rastrick will get the Leeds Best of Brass series underway in November.  Formed more than 125 years ago through public donations, B & R are holders of the 2014 Yorkshire Regional Championship title. The band were National Champions in 2010 and 2011 and are one of the leading public subscription bands in the world to this day. B & R will be in concert at Morley Town Hall on Saturday, November 14 at 7.30pm.

Future highlights of the season will include Tredegar Town Band, 2013 British Open Champions, on December 12, Rothwell Temperance Band, winner of the 2015 Grand Shield, and successful contesting band Black Dyke on February 13.

Also taking part in the series will be the world-famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band and the Reg Vardy Band, Durham University’s band in residence.

l B & R will also be in action at Huddersfield Town Hall with special guests The Band of the King’s Division on October 24.
