“Entries in all classes have increased on last year and, in the floral art section, exhibits more than doubled.

“Several new classes have been very well supported. In fact we had to extend the display area to make room for all the exhibits.”

President, Barbara Walker, praised Sharon and her team for their efforts on a very busy day.

She said: “Our show secretary is unfortunately in hospital but her duties were admirably taken over by her daughter and helpers.”

Councillor and Mrs Bob Metcalfe were guests of the society. Councillor Metcalfe declared the show open whilst his wife presented the winners’ trophies.
