BBC One’s Happy Valley won best drama in the TV awards and playwright and Calderdale’s Sally Wainwright collected the award alongside female protagonist Sarah Lancashire who plays the feisty no-nonsense police sergeant Catherine Cawood in the award winning drama. The drama was filmed at various Calderdale locations including Sowerby Bridge, Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.

Last year, Wainwright told Halifax Courier plans are underway to film a second series of the much anticipated gritty drama.
